Opening Ceremonies: Join the Officer of the Day as "Reveille" is played and the flag is raised.
Cannon Blasts! At the times listed, watch as a cannon is fired from the East Battery in the lower fort. Be sure to set your watch to the firing of the noon gun!
English / French Tours: This complimentary guided tour explains the advanced defences of the Fort, and a glimpse of
garrison life in 1867.
Garrison Parade: At 3:00 p.m. we invite you to join the Officer of the Day to watch the Fort Henry Guard perform
their daily spectacular show. Includes a cannon firing.
Traitor's Trial:- Get Involved!
Go back in time to the year 1838, when Nils Von Schultz was put on trial for his part in leading an invasion known as the Battle of the Windmill. Become the Jury, and cast his fate.
Victorian School - Get Involved!
Lesson: Do not be late for school! With the ringing of the school bell, go back to 1867 and attend class.
Soldier's Letters Home: - Get Involved!
Under the supervision of the schoolmistress, practice writing a letter home, which you can mail from the garrison stores.
Meet our Mascot "David": - Get Involved!
Please stop by and say hello to the mascot of the Fort Henry Guard. David is a white
Saanen Goat who commemorates the services of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, who were stationed at the Fort in 1842-1843.
Join our Army! - Get Involved!
Time to join the Regiment! Let the Fort Henry Guard train you into becoming a soldier, and learn your drill. Receive a certificate for your performance - if you are good enough.
Crimes and Punishment - Get Involved!
Of Private Atkins: A troublesome soldier feels the wrath of the British Army. Listen to his defence, and then you decide a fitting punishment.
Pay Parade: - Get Involved!
Get Paid! Start lining up for the Paymaster Serjeant to receive your daily pay.
Convince the Serjeant that you deserve your "Fort Shillings", redeemable in our gift shops.
Rifle Firing: Learn about the use of small arms by the British Army through the 1800's. A live firing of a Snider - Enfield rifle culminates this demonstration.
Storytelling for Children: - Get Involved!
Gather around Schoolmistress Macklin and relax as she reads children's stories from 1867.
Escape !!- Get Involved!
Follow the actual escape route of prisoner John Montgomery from Fort Henry in this true tale from 1838.
Closing Ceremonies: Join us for the lowering of the flag and a cannon firing, as the garrison concludes daily programming.
