A Message from our General Manager & CEO

As we look forward to 2012, our new plans are all about you! The St. Lawrence Parks Commission intends is to make its vast array of attractions and experiences more economically accessible and introduce new quality events and programs that are relevant, hold value and are fun for you, your friends and families in a safe and healthy environment.

A few of these innovative changes will include lowering of gate admission and event rates plus adding value for you at our key attractions. Visitors will receive with each purchase of a gate admission at Fort Henry, Upper Canada Village or SLPC day-use facility, a FREE ticket to visit the other heritage site or one of the day-use parks or beach areas.  All reciprocals work on the basis of equal or lesser value.

Other new thrilling additions at Upper Canada Village and Fort Henry include event expansion – some to commemorate the Bi-centennial of the War of 1812 and some to celebrate themed holidays.  Fort Henry will be adding Sunset Ceremonies to each Saturday night in July and August, and sleepovers at the Fort! This year, you will enjoy FREE access to scenic drive or cycle along the necklace of eleven islands connected by the Long Sault Parkway.

Our new state-of-the-art Discovery Centre is now open at Upper Canada Village and we’re poised to open the Fort Henry Discovery Centre in May of this year.  Both interactive facilities will bring you closer to our historic roots in a fun and entertaining way with interactive displays and moving audio visual productions.

Our Experience Ambassadors are busy preparing for your visit so we suggest you visit our web sites to begin crafting your travel plans for the summer at www.parks.on.ca. ‘Park It’ this summer!
