NEW: Try Old-fashioned Cycling, Carriage & Oxen Cart Rides, Dress-up and More!

 TAKE THE HIGH ROAD
For a Spin Around Town

Looking for a challenge? Try riding the Village’s new PENNY FARTHING, an old-fashioned style bicycle that seats you high on top of a 48” wheel … see how far you can make the Penny Farthing go!
Fee applies.

Or, ride “high-style” on the fanciful horse-drawn “POMMIER”, a vis-à-vis style carriage that will take up to four adults for a lovely tour around Upper Canada Village.
Fee is $10 per carriage ride.

YEAR OF THE OXEN
Hitch a Ride!

According to the Chinese calendar, 2009 is the Year of the Ox, and Upper Canada Village is letting this important beast of burden put its best foot forward for the occasion! Kids 12 and under can take a short trip around the farms in a wooden cart pulled by the Village’s own gentle giants, Buck and Barney.
Rides are $3 per person (includes gst).

GET “IN-STYLE”
In the Village’s Costume Salon

Now you can stroll the streets in style! Book an appointment in the Village’s COSTUME SALON, where you will get dressed to the gills, head-to-toe, in 1860s attire! Whether you’re donning a bonnet and petticoat, or top hat and braces, spend a couple of hours around town feeling like a real inhabitant of Upper Canada Village.
Costume rentals are $20 per person for 3 hours.

PLUS ~ A Return of the Old Favourites!

GET CARRIED AWAY
On Our Carry-All & Tow Scow!

Give your feet a rest and climb up into our horse-drawn Carry-all! This large covered wagon provides comfortable seating for up to 20 people at a time, and is the ideal way of getting from one end of the Village to the other. Rides run regularly throughout the day.
Included in your admission fee.

Hop on board the tow scow, for a leisurely ride along the Village canal between the Tenant Farm and Cook’s Tavern Livery. Seating up to 60 people at a time, the tow scow is a flat hulled barge that is drawn along the canal several times each day by a horse walking along the bank. Two villagers (one at the bow, and one at the stern) help steer the scow using long poles.
Included in your admission fee.

Note: GST is extra on all fees unless otherwise specified.
We try our best to make sure the above programs are offered on a daily basis. However, they may not be available on certain days due to special events, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
