NOW PLAYING AT UPPER CANADA VILLAGE
Eddie May Mystery group opens new evening Murder Mystery Dinner series July 11
Morrisburg – This summer on select Saturday evenings in July (11, 25) and August (8, 22) Upper Canada Village will be the location for the entertaining Eddie May Mysteries as they perform ‘Gunset Boulevard’ starring Norman Desmond and Samantha Sheppard. Norman and his entourage will be performing his latest docudrama set at Upper Canada Village. It is sure to be an evening full of laughter, hilarious antics, mystery and suspense.
The stage is set in the Discovery Centre followed by a short walk through Upper Canada Village to the Harvest Barn Restaurant. A delicious 3-course dinner is served while guests are entertained by a cast of suspicious characters. And of course, somebody comes to an end. Detective Eddie May arrives and with the help of the audience tries to solve the case. The show will feature song, dance and special effects along with audience interaction and improv comedy. Audience members can be as interactive as they choose. Everyone has a chance to solve the mystery with a chance to win a prize (and bragging rights).
Upper Canada Village ran a test program last summer and as a result of its success, the murder mystery dinners are returning this summer. Eddie May Mysteries is the longest running producer of murder mystery entertainment in North America. They have franchises in Ottawa, Charlottetown and Portland, Oregon.
“In theatre, and in particular interactive theatre like we do at Eddie May Mysteries, ATMOSPHERE is everything! Our staff and actors have been trained to perform in a variety of settings, from private homes to trains, but never have we had an opportunity like this one! To be able to move our plot through a setting like Upper Canada Village will make for a very rich experience for the customer, and our staff are ecstatic about transporting the normally peaceful and pastoral vibe of the Village into an entirely other dimension.” – Noel Counsil, Crime Minister, Eddie May Mysteries
“Upper Canada Village is pleased to have Eddie May Mysteries return this season. Last season was a great success and we look forward to working with this professional team again this summer. By partnering with established high quality entertainment professionals such as Eddie May Mysteries, we hope to maximize the unique setting of the Village during its “after hours” period through the high tourism season as well.”-- Geoff Waycik, Manager, Upper Canada Village
