ST. LAWRENCE PARKS COMMISSION WELCOMES NEW GENERAL MANAGER & CEO
Kingston’s Hollee Kew to lead provincial agency.
Morrisburg, Ontario – Nancy Matthews, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and Linda Ann Daly, Acting Chair of the St Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) are pleased to announce the selection of Kingston’s Hollee Kew as the new General Manager and CEO of the St. Lawrence Parks Commission. This appointment follows an open recruitment process and takes effect September 17, 2018.
Ms. Kew has extensive Ontario government experience having served as the Director for the Eastern Region in the Drinking Water and Environmental Compliance Division with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). She held many key responsibilities in the region including the responsibility for the remediation and clean-up of the former Deloro Mine Site and the Provincial lead for overseeing the delivery of the Canada-Ontario Agreement for Great Lakes (COA)/Great Lakes Strategy work plan. This lead involved significant work around Areas of Concern that included the St. Lawrence River.
Prior roles in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) have included as a Director in the Investigation and Enforcement Branch at MECP and in the Entrepreneurship Branch at the (former) Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and included time at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Outside of the OPS, Ms. Kew has held senior management positions as an Executive Director of a federally funded economic development organization and as a Manager of Economic Development and served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Captain Logistics Officer.
Ms. Kew has successfully developed, led and facilitated numerous strategic plans in economic development, tourism and within a regulatory environment focusing on innovative and ambitious goals for Eastern Ontario. She has had significant success in building highly effective teams that understand the importance of embracing transformation and the excitement of continuous improvement.
Ms. Kew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and a Masters of Business Administration from Queen’s University. She also holds two professional designations as a Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.
As General Manager and CEO of the SLPC, Ms. Kew will provide leadership and oversee the operation of the SLPC’s diverse portfolio of attractions and facilities. The SLPC generates an estimated economic impact of $83 million annually. She takes over from interim General Manager and CEO Ronald Holgerson who has provided leadership since February 2017.

The St. Lawrence Parks Commission, an agency of the Government of Ontario, operates facilities in 16 municipalities stretching from Kingston to the Quebec border. Operations include Upper Canada Village, Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada (part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site); Kingston Penitentiary Tours, Skywood Eco Adventure, Crysler Park Marina, Upper Canada Golf Course, Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary and 14 campgrounds and beach day-use picnic areas including the Long Sault and 1000 Islands Parkway.
