Skywood Eco Adventure adds new experience for children

St. Lawrence Parks Commission is adding more fun to the 1000 Islands with the opening of TREEWALK VILLAGE, an adventure experience for children 3-8 years of age at Skywood Eco Adventure.  The SLPC opened Skywood, Ontario's largest aerial adventure and zip line experience in July.  Skywood hasn't disappointed in its delivery of exciting outdoor experiences in one of the region's most exceptional outdoor spaces.

TREEWALK VILLAGE offers children an opportunity to have their own Skywood adventure tailored to their abilities that will help them to build both their skill level and confidence.  The treehouse experience offers a network of seven colourful treehouses interconnected by a variety of ramps, nets and slides several feet off the ground.  The course is completely safe as it is fully enclosed with netting.  No special equipment or safety harnesses are needed.  The TREE-WEE Obstacle Course is a series of seven games including a Rainbow Bridge, V-Nets, U-Net, Swinging Logs, a Log Weave and a wooden ladder bridge.  Children can climb through the course from tree to tree similar to the Adventure Park, but with the safety of being close to the ground.  Youngsters will also have a chance to try out Zip Swings that are two parallel swings situated close to the ground and that give a feel of a zip line as they glide a distance of 60 feet while the riders sit on the swing seat.  A parent or guardian must be present while the children are in TREEWALK VILLAGE.

"We are very excited to be launching this new experience at Skywood Eco Adventure.  The opening of TREEWALK VILLAGE means the whole family has the chance to share an unforgettable outdoor experience.  Since we opened Skywood in July, we've received an amazing, positive response from visitors. People are loving it!"  -- Lou Seiler, Manager, Parks & Recreational Facilities, St. Lawrence Parks Commission
