Morrisburg, Ontario – The St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) is pleased to announce that Bytown Catering of Ottawa has been awarded contracts to provide food and beverage services for three of its sites. As a result of winning individual comprehensive and competitive bidding processes, they will provide services at Fort Henry National Historic Site, Upper Canada Village and Upper Canada Golf Course.

Bytown Catering is the Ottawa and Gatineau regions’ #1 choice for catering services as awarded by the Consumer’s Choice Award, for all functions including weddings, corporate and business functions as well as catering for private events, parties and dinners. Bytown Catering’s success can be attributed to its sincere commitment to customer service, its focus on providing high-quality food options at reasonable prices, and its drive to operate in a manner supporting ecological, social and environmental ethics.  Bytown Catering has been awarded the Consumer’s Choice award every year for the past 18 years, and in 2010 was recognized with the prestigious Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Marketplace Trust.

“The St. Lawrence Parks Commission is excited to have Bytown Catering take on delivery of food and beverage services at three of our sites.  We look forward to working with this new team and we are confident that our guests will be well-served with great food and excellent service whether for a golf tournament, group event or wedding or for individual dining.” – Ronald Holgerson, Interim CEO St. Lawrence Parks Commission.

“We are thrilled to be the St. Lawrence Parks Commission’s food services partner for three of its sites, which we believe all to be amongst the top attractions in Eastern Ontario for locals and visitors. We look forward to a long-term successful relationship with the SLPC to bring fresh and new ideas to the food services offerings and to provide guests with a superior experience at each site.” – Steve Lachance, President Bytown Catering.

Food services at Upper Canada Village include a historic dining experience at Willard’s Hotel featuring a heritage-themed menu.  Fresh-baked bread from the Village Bakery and cheddar cheese made in the Cheese Factory accompany many meals.  The Harvest Barn offers the perfect venue for families and others looking to grab a quick lunch in a relaxing, rustic setting.  The Battery Bistro at Fort Henry is Kingston’s largest waterfront patio with spectacular views of Lake Ontario and the City of Kingston.  It’s the perfect summertime dining venue.  It is an ideal location to go for dinner before Sunset Ceremonies or to catch a live music performance Friday evenings in July and August.  The Officer’s Mess offering table service by uniformed “Soldier Servants” can accommodate groups of up to 138 people.  Larger groups or weddings can enjoy a catered event in the Discovery Centre which includes magnificent views of the St. Lawrence River.  The Discovery Centre was recently named by MSN as one of the “20 Canadian places where you can get married like royalty”.  The clubhouse at Upper Canada Golf Course features floor to ceiling windows with views of the manicured greens and fairways for which it is renowned.  Tournament and group functions for up to 150 people can be accommodated in the clubhouse.

Bytown Catering has been providing catering services since 1996 and offers menus using the highest quality food and personalized service, all at reasonable prices.
