A terrifying and immersive Halloween experience – Fort Fright returns to Fort Henry this October

KINGSTON, ON – Fort Fright returns to Fort Henry this October, promising another season of unforgettable thrills for the brave visitors. Set within the historic walls of Fort Henry, the annual Halloween attraction combines the site’s distinctive architecture with a haunted experience designed to surprise, thrill and immerse guests from the moment they arrive. For select nights throughout October, guests will step into a frightening world of monsters and mysteries brought to life through movie-quality animatronics, theatrical special effects and live performers lurking around every corner. From narrow pathways, dark tunnels and unexpected encounters, Fort Fright delivers a fully immersive Halloween experience unlike anything else in Eastern Ontario.

Ontario’s unique haunted attraction returns with new experiences, more scares and immersive programming.

A new sensory-driven haunted maze, dubbed “The Following” designed for guests aged 16 and older. Wearing a blackout mask and guided only by a handrail, participants navigate a disorienting journey filled with moving floors, eerie audio and unsettling surprises as they undergo a mysterious initiation into a secret society.

The 2026 season also features:
  • A “Monster Hunt” where guests can test their aim and archery skills against frightening targets
  • Expanded interactive activities and guest entertainment
  • New props, costumes and scenic effects
  • Refreshed lighting and enhanced atmospheric experiences
  • More scare actors than ever before

Beyond the haunted walkthrough, guests can enjoy a variety of spooky experiences throughout the evening, including tarot card readings, coffin rides, photo opportunities, horror-themed entertainment and specialty food and beverages.

For those seeking a more haunted journey, Dark Night Thursdays return on select October evenings. During these special nights, the attraction is experienced in near-total darkness, with visitors relying only on a flashlight to navigate the unknown.

To accommodate guests of varying comfort levels, Fort Fright continues to offer optional Scare Shields available for purchase, which signal performers to dial back the intensity of interactions while still allowing visitors to enjoy the full experience.

Since it’s launch in 2008, Fort Fright has become a cornerstone of Halloween season in Kingston and a major fall tourism attraction, drawing thrill-seekers from across Ontario and beyond. The event plays an important role in extending the tourism season while delivering an unforgettable Halloween experience for thousands of visitors each year.
