Advance Tickets Available for Three of Region’s Most Popular Historic Sites: Upper Canada Village, Fort Henry, and Kingston Pen Tours
MORRISBURG, ON – Tickets for the St. Lawrence Parks Commission’s premier historic attractions, Upper Canada Village in Morrisburg and Fort Henry and Kingston Pen Tours in Kingston, are now available for purchase for the 2026 season. Guests can secure tickets online and start planning their visits to these iconic destinations along the scenic St. Lawrence River.
Located across Eastern Ontario, these historic sites offer immersive, engaging experiences that bring Canada’s past to life through interpretation, demonstrations, and storytelling. Together, they remain among the region’s most visited cultural attractions, welcoming locals and travellers of all ages to explore Canada’s social, military, and institutional history.
One of the largest living‑history museums in Canada, Upper Canada Village invites guests to step back to 1866 and experience 19th‑century rural village life. With more than 40 historic buildings animated by skilled interpreters, guests can explore traditional trades, farming practices, music, and daily social life of the era. Upper Canada Village opens for the 2026 main season on May 9. New for 2026, guests will have expanded learning opportunities and continued interpretation that highlights the diverse communities that shaped Upper Canada in the 19th century.
In Kingston, Fort Henry National Historic Site offers an immersive look at 19th‑century military life within one of Canada’s most recognizable fortifications. Guests can explore the Fort through guided and self‑guided experiences, enjoy live demonstrations and musical performances, and take in sweeping views of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. This season introduces enhanced family‑focused programming, including new interactive activities for children and expanded daily demonstrations throughout the site. Fort Henry opens for Spring Preview Days on May 10, followed by main season operations beginning May 16.
Kingston Pen Tours provide an in‑depth look behind the walls of Canada’s oldest maximum‑security prison. Guided tours, supported by first‑hand accounts from retired correctional staff, explore the lived experiences of both staff and offenders and the evolution of Canada’s federal penitentiary system. Kingston Pen Tours opened for the 2026 season on April 4, with expanded tour availability becoming available throughout spring and summer. In 2026, Kingston Pen Tours celebrates its tenth season of public tours, expands access to its popular evening Express Tours following strong demand, and continues to open additional areas of the site, offering new opportunities for repeat visitation and deeper exploration of the penitentiary’s history.
Tickets for all three historic sites are available for advance purchase online, and early booking is encouraged, particularly for Kingston Pen Tours, which operate with scheduled tour times and limited capacity.
