St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) is pleased to share that all construction fencing and temporary facilities have been removed, and Brown’s Bay Beach & Picnic Area is fully ready to enjoy! The park is open until October 8, weekdays 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and weekends 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The washroom/changeroom and outdoor shower facilities at Brown’s Bay Beach & Picnic Area are now open for park users. The bayfront building includes gender-neutral and accessible changerooms and washrooms, and a water fountain and water bottle refill station. Outdoor showers are included on both the east and west sides of the building, near both entrances.
Picnic tables and barbecues are available throughout the park greenspace. The new seating/picnic area with shade sail has also been completed.
To maximize the enjoyment of the newly revitalized park, the 2023 season has been extended and the park will be open seven days a week until October 8, 2023. Guests can enjoy relaxing by the water, swimming, playing at the playground, boat launch, and the new perched beach area in addition to the natural beach area to the east. At the perched beach, two new barrier-free entry ramps into the water have been added at the shoreline.
Once the park closes in the fall, the construction crew will return to address some minor repairs and projects. The food & beverage canteen and dining patio will open next season.
